This plant located in Spain is world’s first concentrating solar power which is able to produce solar energy at night.
During day time it operates in the same way as other plant works, its use sunlight to contact with the panel and generates electricity.
During the night it uses its salt battery to get energy.It is not actually a battery, though.These types of solar power plant concentrate hot sunlight through a collector, which then eventually transfer heat to molten salt where it is stored for night use.
The stored molten salt is later used to help boil water at night and which run a turbine to generate electricity.

Like another solar power plant, it also stores solar energy during daytime and use it at night and generate electricity from thermal energy. the 150 Mw of concentrated solar power plant uses parabolic troughs. The parabolic mirrors are mounted with a small tube filled with liquid fluid is attached to it.
parabolic-trough mirrors are a solar collector, they concentrate sunlight on tubes which warm oil liquid to more than 400-degree Celsius which then used to boil the water which spins a turbine to generate electricity from the thermal process.
As these solar collectors are big enough to collect twice as much sunlight as plants needt o operate during day time. The backup or extra generated heated oil is sent to the heat exchanger. the hot moltan salt is used as backup during night which generates electricity by boiling water.
